Last month Aby, Guludo's Operations manager, braved the cold and came to London for sales and marketing training. Being his first time out of Africa it was quite an experience for him! The first week was spent at the World Travel Market; a great insight into the international tourism industry and the rest of the time was spent on sales, finance and admin training.
However, it certainly wasn't all work. Aby quickly aquired a taste for Guinness and when I asked him what his top five English experiences were he listed them as;
Visiting a primary school, the London Eye, Buckingham Palace and all the historic buildings, pubs, lots of people (especially in London) and girls dressing in tiny tops and skirts in the freezing cold weather!
One of my highlights of his stay was Aby's look of surprise when he was dressed in 5 layers, a hat and a scarf and one of the primary school children asked in a thick Burnley accent,
Is it cold in Mozambique?
Neal's highlight was definately the tour of Old Trafford - The Theatre of Dreams! To be completely honest, I'm not sure who enjoyed sight-seeing more; Aby or Neal and I!?
