We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Abidarre Alide (Aby), Guludo's Director for Operations, will be going to London to do an MBA.
Born on Ibo Island from very humble beginnings, Aby worked hard to save money to go to Pemba University to study Tourism Management. It was while studying that he went for an interview for an admin position at Guludo Beach Lodge in 2004. Quietly ambitious, Aby quickly moved up the ranks and in 2007 was (as far as we know) the first fully Mozambican General Manager of a lodge/hotel. At the end of 2008 he was promoted again and has been Guludo's Director for Operations.
I still can't quite beleive I'm going! I'm incredibly proud and so pleased that I can continue working for Guludo part time while studying in London.
